Meet Ellie, a sweet 5-year-old dachshund with a big personality, joyful spirit, and so much love to give. She adores people, lights up at the sound of a squeaky toy, and has a special way of making everyone smile. Ellie came to us after developing IVDD-related paralysis in her back legs, but while her mobility has changed, her love for life has not. She scoots with impressive speed like a tiny tornado and uses a drag bag to stay comfortable as she moves. She loves being outside, gets excited for treats, and gives kisses galore. If you are looking for a loyal little dog with courage, charm, and endless love, Ellie may be the perfect girl for you.
Ideal Home
Ellie needs a patient, loving home that will see beyond her special needs and recognize the wonderful companion she already is.
Ongoing Health
Ellie does need her bladder expressed, but this is a skill that can be learned with guidance and practice. She has received acupuncture and daily laser therapy. She will need a wheelchair for walks, outdoor adventures, and backyard romps, and one will be provided with her adoption.

Ellie is a happy, affectionate, and eager to enjoy every day.
