Meet Benson, a sweet and quiet boy with a heart full of love to give! After a tough start in Texas where he was hit by a car and left to wander, Benson has bounced back with resilience and charm. He underwent a leg amputation with Big Fluffy and has slowly discovered that humans can be wonderful, offering treats and a cool place to relax. Benson is a dog who appreciates his independence, true to his Great Pyrenees heritage. He's not one for constant demands, preferring to observe from a comfortable spot in the same room, content with your company without needing to be attached at your hip. He gets along well with other dogs and is completely unfazed by cats. Benson is a gentleman in the car, at vet visits, and during handling, and he's already mastered his potty training.
Ideal Home
Benson would thrive in a calm, low-traffic environment. He would do best in a home with children over 12 who understand and respect a dog's boundaries. Loud or boisterous children might be overwhelming for him. A home with minimal stairs is preferred to help keep him comfortable long-term, as he is a tripod.
Ongoing Health
Benson is a tripod due to a past leg amputation. While he gets around just fine, a home that minimizes stair use will help keep him comfortable.
Training & Support
Benson is already potty trained and rides beautifully in the car. He's a perfect gentleman during vet visits and handling. As he's more of an observer, he doesn't require constant attention but enjoys being in the same room as his people.
