Meet Akira!

This sweet, 5.5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire mix, weighing around 60lbs, was rescued from a euthanasia list with mere minutes to spare. She's been patiently waiting for her forever home for nine months, and we can't understand why she hasn't found her perfect match yet! Akira has the most adorable puppy-dog eyes and is looking for a special person to call her own, with whom she can lounge and snuggle. She's a big love bug who truly believes she's a tiny lap dog! During the day, you'll find her snoozing on a comfy dog bed until it's time for a walk. She's a good listener, follows commands well, and takes treats ever so gently. To keep herself entertained, she enjoys chewing on bones or tossing her stuffed toys from her bed and then pouncing to retrieve them.

Ideal Home

Akira adores people and enjoys the company of calm, submissive pups. While she would be content as the sole dog in a home, her ultimate dream is to be your one and only, the apple of your eye!

Training & Support

Akira is fully crate-trained and knows her basic commands. She is a smart girl who will thrive with continued positive reinforcement and gentle guidance.

Transporation

Akira is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. She can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be scheduled on the next available transport after approval.
