Zac is a 5-year-old, neutered Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing around 60 pounds. He's a loyal and loving companion who enjoys a good balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddles. Zac was rescued from a county shelter and underwent FHO surgery on a back leg due to an untreated injury. He's fully healed and requires no further medical intervention or medication. Zac thrives on companionship and is happiest when he has people or other dogs around. He's a conversationalist, especially when dinner is late, and enjoys gazing lovingly into his people's eyes. He has a moderate exercise need, enjoying outdoor exploration before settling in for affection and naps.
Ideal Home
Zac would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He enjoys having canine companions and seems happiest when there's another dog around or people nearby to share his life with. He has done well meeting new people and enjoys car rides. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when excited.
Ongoing Health
Zac is fully healed from his FHO surgery and requires no ongoing medical care or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He is respectful of other dogs and shows excellent canine manners. On walks, he remains calm and doesn't react to passing dogs. His foster believes he would do well with a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when he gets excited. He has shown no signs of resource guarding.
