Wanda is a sweet 2-3 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who weighs about 38 lbs. She was found wandering the streets of Matamoros, Mexico, malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas, clearly searching for food and shelter. Despite her rough start, Wanda is a very active, playful, energetic, and loving girl who socializes well with adults. She prefers to be the only dog in the home and has not been aggressive towards smaller dogs, but we recommend a home without other large dogs.
Ideal Home
Wanda would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and daily walks. She needs a home with a fenced backyard and a family with experience with her breed. A family with an open mind about the needs of rescued animals, and experience in dog behavior and training, will be best equipped to provide Wanda with the patience and understanding she deserves as a rescued pup.
Ongoing Health
Wanda has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed, receiving DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, and being dewormed. She has tested negative for heartworm and a 4DX test was conducted. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
Wanda is not house-trained, and due to the large number of animals in foster care, house-training each one is not possible. She will require patience and consistency in her new home to help her learn. Her foster family is committed to rehabilitating her health and emotions, and they have invested significant time and resources into her care.
