About Ryder
Meet Ryder - Your Adventure Buddy and Loyal Best Friend!
Ryder is the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with his people and becomes their constant sidekick through all of life's adventures. Smart, athletic, affectionate, and incredibly loyal, Ryder is looking for a home that understands and appreciates active, intelligent dogs who thrive when they're both mentally and physically engaged.
This handsome boy absolutely lives for playtime - especially anything involving a tennis ball. Whether he's chasing toys, soaking up the sunshine in the yard, heading out for a hike, or curling up beside you while you enjoy your morning coffee, Ryder is happiest simply being part of everyday life with his people. Ryder is an exceptionally intelligent dog who loves learning and working alongside his humans. He has experience with obedience, agility, scent work, bikejoring, and even a little truffle hunting! He's eager to learn, highly trainable, and would thrive with someone who enjoys continuing to build on his skills and giving him outlets for both exercise and mental enrichment. He's also a wonderful travel and adventure companion. Ryder enjoys car rides, camping trips, outdoor time, and exploring new places. After a fun day, he's more than happy to settle in at home, burrow under the blankets, or nap nearby in his favorite chair. Ryder can stay home during a normal workday and has experience with crate training, though he's happiest relaxing comfortably in the home while waiting for his people to return. This decision has been incredibly difficult for his family, who love him deeply. Unfortunately, as their household changed with the addition of a young child, it became clear that the busy, unpredictable environment has been stressful for Ryder. Because of this, we feel he would do best in an adult-only home or possibly with older, calm, dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries and respectful interactions with dogs. We've found that when Ryder has regular exercise, structure, healthy mental stimulation, routine, and a calmer environment, he settles beautifully and shows what an incredible companion he truly is.
At his core, Ryder is a deeply loving, goofy, sensitive, and loyal dog who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. For the right person or couple looking for an active best friend, hiking partner, adventure buddy, and devoted companion, Ryder has so much love to give.
We truly believe Ryder's perfect match is out there, and we can't wait to help him find the calm, loving home he deserves.
