Meet Gemma - A Brave Survivor Ready for Her Soft Landing
Gemma is a beautiful girl who truly embodies resilience. Found in La Cruz with a severe TVT tumor, she faced her challenges head-on and emerged cancer-free, with only a small scar to remind her of her strength. She's now looking for a loving family to share her bright future with. Gemma is moderately active, enjoying leisurely strolls and basking in the sun. She's a social butterfly with other dogs, usually taking the lead with confidence, and lives harmoniously with both male and female companions. Her affection is quiet but deep, and she's ready to offer steady love to her forever home.
Ideal Home
A home where Gemma can enjoy her moderately active lifestyle, with opportunities for strolls and sunbathing. She enjoys the company of other dogs and thrives in a social environment.
Ongoing Health
Gemma is cancer-free. She will require a simple cytology swab every 6 months for 2 years as a precautionary measure. TVT rarely returns, and many survivors live long, happy lives.
Training & Support
Gemma is described as sweet and steady, offering quiet affection. No specific training needs are mentioned, but she enjoys being around other dogs.

Transportation
Our rescue is located near Bucerias, Mexico. Approved adopters can have their new pup flown to them via flight companions (flight angels) traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet them at the airport to welcome your new pup home. During the summer months, it can be challenging to secure Canadian flight angels, so dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border if a Canadian flight angel is unavailable. We have successfully completed many adoptions during the summer with volunteers helping to bring dogs to their adopters at the border.
