Meet Phillip, a 50-pound Staffy mix with a PhD in toy-flinging and a minor in snuggling! This handsome boy is a master of playtime, his enthusiasm for plushies rivaled only by his love for a good cuddle session. He even aced bath time, proving he's a superstar in every way!
Phillip may start off a little shy, but he's a big-hearted pup working hard on building his confidence. He's making excellent progress with his leash manners, and with a little patience, he'll be walking right beside you in no time. He's already shown he can play well with other dogs of all sizes, from pups his own size to a Great Pyrenees puppy. Phillip is also a friend to men and women, though he's still learning that hands are for gentle pets, not for scaring him. We suspect he's had some tough times, but he's eager to learn that human hands can be a source of love and comfort.
Phillip has a moderate to high energy level, so he's up for adventure but also enjoys his downtime. He needs daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep his smart mind engaged. He's already crate-trained and doesn't dig, but he does have a strong bond with his chew toys, so supervised play is a must!
Phillip knows how to sit and is eager to please, especially when treats are involved! He's a work in progress, and with a loving and patient home, he'll blossom into the most loyal companion you could ask for.
Ideal Home
Phillip would thrive in a home that understands he is a work in progress and can offer him the space and patience to continue growing into a confident, happy dog. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended to ensure the best fit for both Phillip and the family.
Ongoing Health
Phillip is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.
Training & Support
Phillip is learning to improve his leash manners and is working on his confidence around human hands. Supervised play with chew toys is recommended. He knows how to sit but can get overly enthusiastic when treats are involved; consistency and positive reinforcement will help him master this.
