Nikko

If floppy-tipped ears and soulful eyes are your thing, we'd like to introduce you to Nikko.

At just 5 months old and already weighing 37 pounds, this handsome Shepherd mix is expected to grow into a 50+ pound heartthrob. Nikko is smart, sweet, playful, and so, so loving.

He already knows commands like sit, is working on down, and is quickly figuring out all the important puppy things - like going potty outside and how to be the very best boy.

Nikko loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion to show him the ropes. He spends hours playing with his foster sibling and gains confidence from having another dog nearby. While he's happy to tag along on adventures, he's equally content to settle down with a bone in between play sessions.

This sweet boy has done great with kids of all ages and has shown nothing but friendliness toward everyone he's met. Cats are still a bit of a mystery, but Nikko has been curious rather than chase-y during his limited introductions.

Like any growing puppy, Nikko is still polishing up his manners. He's working on crate training, learning the ropes of leash walking, and can get a little jumpy when he's excited. But he's one smart cookie and eager to learn.

Balls, Benebones, backyard zoomies, and games of chase with dog friends all rank high on Nikko's list of favorite things. A fenced yard would be a huge plus for this playful dude! But don't let the zoomies fool you - his foster says he's also the sweetest baby, the kind who melts your heart with those warm brown eyes and adorable floppy-tipped ears. And when the day winds down, Nikko is happy either in his kennel or curled up close to his favorite humans.

Nikko's adoption fee is $275 and includes his neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters.
