Meet Lulu! This stunning, 4-year-old Golden Retriever with a beautiful cream-colored coat is ready to find a loving home. Lulu has overcome significant challenges and is now a happy, active tripod, having adjusted wonderfully after a necessary amputation due to an old injury. She forms deep, wholehearted bonds with her people and enjoys being your shadow, always wanting to know where you are. Her love for tennis balls is undeniable; she'll happily carry one around or simply relax by your side with it. Lulu settles well when left alone, even though she enjoys companionship.

Ideal Home

Lulu would thrive in an adult-only home. She can be protective of her space and loved ones, sometimes grumbling if she feels uncomfortable or crowded, making an adult-only environment the best fit. While she has lived successfully with cats and other dogs, any canine companion should be a good match for her unique mobility as a three-legged dog, and meet-and-greets will be essential. Lulu is hesitant around doorways, thresholds, and elevated entrances, and prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, disliking being picked up.

Lulu has recovered well from her leg amputation and is now a confident tripod.

Lulu is a smart but stubborn girl who thrives with structure, consistency, and clear expectations. She can be protective of her space and people, so it's important for her adopter to help her build positive relationships with all household members rather than becoming overly attached to just one person. She may need encouragement to gain confidence moving through doorways and thresholds.
