Lola is a sweet and shy girl who is about a year and a half old. She came to us from our local animal care and control and was initially very frightened. Once she felt safe, her true affectionate personality began to shine through. Lola wasn't set up for success in her previous home, but with patience and dedication, she's learning to build confidence and navigate the world. She is shy at first and may bark at strangers, but if you move slowly and give her space, she will warm up and shower you with love and kisses. Lola is potty trained and understands the process, and she is also doing well with crate training, settling best when you sit nearby or use a crate cover. While busy environments can be overwhelming for her, she does beautifully on quiet trails and in calmer areas. With confident handling and treats, she can manage more active neighborhoods. Lola is improving with co-walks with other dogs, and her reactions stem from uncertainty, not aggression. We believe that as her confidence grows, she will discover how much she enjoys playtime and companionship. Lola’s ideal adopter will meet her where she is, continue her training, and focus on building a strong, trusting bond, and in return, they’ll gain an incredibly loyal, loving companion. We are requiring an adoption trial to help ensure Lola is set up for success.
