Bailey-Sue is a 4-year-old, 57lb spayed female pittie mix who is playful, affectionate, and brave. She came to us from the Houston shelter after surviving physical abuse. While it took her months to trust again, her resilience and gentle spirit now shine through. She just needs a patient, loving home willing to let her open up at her own pace – once she does, she's pure love.
Ideal Home
Bailey-sue adores children of all ages and currently lives with kids between 3 and 17 years old. She would enjoy the companionship of another dog, but it's not required. She has done best with dogs around 30-80 lbs and may particularly well with a calm male dog who can match her energy and help her feel confident. Slow introductions are key to her success. Because of her past, Bailey needs a home that understands she may take time to feel safe and confident. She may bark or seem unsure around new people or dogs – her reactions are rooted in fear, not aggression.
Ongoing Health
Bailey-Sue is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Bailey-Sue is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night. She has never shown any food or toy guarding. She walks nicely on a leash after she's had time to burn off energy, but continued leash work will help her be her best self.
