Salome is a beautiful 6-year-old black and white girl with stunning blue eyes. She weighs about 46lbs and has a mellow and chill energy level. Salome has made incredible progress since coming into our care, transforming from a dog who didn't know what love was to one who cherishes the simple joys of a cozy dog bed and companionship. She enjoys her walks and stays close to your side, and she's learning to let her true, carefree personality shine through. Salome communicates her needs with gentle barks and is great at letting you know when it's time to go outside. She's a shy soul who blossoms with patience and gentle care, and she has so much love to give to the right family.
Ideal Home
Salome would do best in a home without young children, ideally with individuals 12 years or older, as loud or fast movements can be scary for her. A home with a securely fenced yard with at least 5 ft fencing or a privacy fence is recommended. While she is generally good with other dogs, she can be a bit overwhelmed by younger, more energetic companions. She would thrive with a calm, older canine sibling (3+ years old) or as the sole canine companion. She is not ideal for apartment living due to occasional howling when crated.
Ongoing Health
Salome has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, including Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella. She has tested negative for heartworm and tick-borne illnesses. She receives regular preventative care for heartworm and fleas/ticks. Salome is house-trained, though occasional accidents can happen, which are easily corrected.
Training & Support
Salome is crate-trained, though she may need some positive reinforcement to encourage her to enter her crate. She walks well on a leash. She is still working on commands like "sit," "stay," and "lay." Salome enjoys weekly brushing and loves using the vacuum brush!
