Dagger is a 6.5-month-old spayed female Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. She was rescued from the woods with her mother and littermates and has grown up in a loving foster home. Dagger is named for the distinct dagger-shaped marking on her neck and her formerly sharp puppy teeth. She's a playful, affectionate, and confident pup who is also a talented escape artist! After playing, Dagger loves to cuddle and give gentle love nibbles. She is friendly with strangers, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has done well with children.
Ideal Home
Dagger would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Because she is an adolescent dog, she benefits from regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and human interaction, so a home where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time is preferred. Due to her energetic nature and love of play, a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog is preferred to help mentor and guide her. If a home does not have another dog, a proactive plan for continued socialization and canine interaction is essential.
