About 0831 Finn
Meet adorable Finn, a sweet and sassy, silky soft, tricolor mini Aussie who’s ready to administer hugs on request! Finn is the true definition of a Velcro dog; he loves being with his person and would be happy to share his life with a doggy sibling. He’s energetic and driven, with an enthusiastic "yes!" to every ball chase and trick he’s invited to learn. Finn needs an active person to continue the extensive list of activities he has already started to master. He picks things up very quickly and is a joy to train, being highly motivated by praise and food.
Finn will attach to his new person or people quickly, though he can be a bit reserved when first meeting new individuals. Once a bond is formed, he loves his people with all of his huge heart. Finn is a sensitive soul; before coming to rescue, he wasn't treated very well, and some harsh devices used on him in the past have caused him some anxiety. He will be 3 years old on September 18th and weighs 26 lbs.
Ideal Home
Finn needs a large, fenced-in yard where he can chase balls, play with a doggy sibling, and run to his heart's content. He’s discovered a love for agility and Nosework and enjoys backyard practice sessions. His ideal human will be active, have experience with herding breeds or similar, and possess the confidence to meet the needs and traits of an Aussie. Finn would LOVE to be someone's dedicated sidekick, accompanying them on all sorts of adventures. He is very true to the Aussie breed and loves to be with his humans. Finn is great with other dogs and even cats. We recommend no young children for Finn as they tend to scare him. Children 14 and older would be ideal, or perhaps an older couple with limited child visitors. Finn has excellent house manners and is crate trained, though he doesn't love it. He can be trusted in the house for long periods.
Ongoing Health
Finn is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required.
Training & Support
Finn has spent the last year on an extensive learning journey, including basic obedience, Nosework, beginning agility, a focused, home-based two-week training program, and daily practice of all his known commands. He is SUPER smart and loves to learn. He would thrive with someone who will continue all that he has learned and would make an excellent performance dog.
