Gina

Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix with a heart of gold! She was found abandoned in a cardboard box by the side of a busy road as a tiny puppy, but thankfully, a wonderful foster has given her the chance for a fresh start and a loving forever home. Gina is a smart and playful girl who absolutely adores toys and has even mastered fetch! She enjoys her toys so much that she likes to gather them all in her bed.

Ideal Home

Gina would do best in an active home with someone who will engage her in daily play. She would also benefit from a canine companion to keep her company and help her expend her puppy energy, especially as she enjoys playing tug-of-war with her smaller foster siblings. While she is still learning her size and can be jumpy when excited, she would likely do well with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up). A cat-free home is recommended, as Gina tends to get a bit too excited by neighborhood kitties.

Training & Support

Gina is crate trained and doing well with house training, having no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. However, she is currently in her "puppy velociraptor stage," so she will need guidance on appropriate chew items and prefers to enjoy her treats alone. Adopters should be prepared to provide ongoing socialization and positive training to help her grow into a well-mannered adult.
