Prince is a handsome boy, around 2 to 2.5 years old and weighing between 58 and 64 pounds. He was surrendered to a high-kill shelter due to no fault of his own. Luckily, he was rescued and received essential medical care, including treatment for heartworm (he is no longer positive) and surgery to correct an entropion eye issue. He's now up-to-date on all his shots and has truly blossomed into a gem. Prince is crate trained, potty trained, and does well with dogs of all sizes. He used to hump other dogs, but since being neutered, this behavior has stopped, and he's now very playful. He's treat and food motivated but not food aggressive. Prince enjoys car rides and walks, and he has a medium energy level. He knows commands like "sit," "come," "heel" for leash walking, and "gentle" or "nice" when taking treats.
Ideal Home
Prince would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can play and explore. He would likely not be a good apartment dog. He would enjoy having a canine companion to play with, but it's not a requirement. He would also be happy with a family that includes children, a couple, or a single person, as long as they include him in their daily adventures. Applicants must be over 21 years old. No tie-outs or electric fences.
Ongoing Health
Prince is no longer heartworm positive and has had successful surgery to correct entropion in his eye. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Prince is crate trained and potty trained. He is treat and food motivated. He is learning to be gentle when taking treats.
