Hi, I'm Fleetwood! I'm a sweet old man looking for my final forever home. I may have a few aches and pains, but that won't stop me from playing fetch with you all day long. When I'm not being your shadow, I'm usually either snoozing nearby or happily picking up and dropping a tennis ball over and over until someone throws it for me.
I do great on a leash and I'm not bothered by squirrels or rabbits at all. There are just a couple things I take very seriously: I do not like other dogs while I'm on leash or people on bicycles, and I will absolutely protect you from them with my life. Despite that, I really do love my walks and would be happiest with a couple short walks each day.
I haven't been exposed to other dogs, cats, or children off leash yet, so my foster mom isn't sure how I'd feel about them in a home environment.
I'm diagnosed with spondylosis and take pain medication, but don't let that fool you! I'm still mobile, playful, and love being involved in whatever you're doing. I can go up and down stairs, go on walks, and play fetch just like any other dog... I'm just a little clumsy sometimes! I'm also a pretty lazy guy overall and love naps and couch cuddles. I never get on the couch without permission, but when invited up I'll happily curl up right beside you.
Oh, and I do great in a crate too! My foster mom works during the day, but I'm perfectly content snoozing and playing with my Kong until she gets home.
All I really want is a comfy place to rest, someone to throw my tennis ball, and a family to love for the rest of my days.
Ideal Home
I would love a home that can provide a couple of short walks each day. I am not a fan of other dogs or bicycles when on leash and will react to protect you. My foster mom is unsure how I would do with other dogs, cats, or children in the home as I have not been exposed to them.
Ongoing Health
I have been diagnosed with spondylosis and take pain medication daily. I am still mobile and enjoy playing, but I can be a little clumsy sometimes.
Training & Support
I am crate trained and content to spend time in my crate when left alone. I also know to ask permission before getting on the couch, but I love to cuddle up with my people when invited.
