Meet Chance! This handsome adult beagle is looking for his happily ever after. Chance is a resilient soul who is ready to leave his past behind and embrace a life filled with love and comfort. He’s a curious pup who enjoys company and is especially happy when his people are home. One of his charming quirks is his fondness for "borrowing" socks – a true beagle trait!
Ideal Home
Chance would thrive in a calm home environment where he can continue to build his confidence. He needs a securely fenced yard and cannot live in an apartment. It’s important that he have another confident, dog-friendly canine sibling to help him learn the ropes of being a beloved pet. Due to his past experiences, a home without small children is preferred. He has shown to be respectful of cats.
Ongoing Health
Chance is neutered and up-to-date on all his vetting. He is currently on a raw diet, and it's recommended that this diet be continued to maintain his digestive stability, as many beagles from his former situation experienced tummy troubles. He may be prone to vaccine reactions and will require Benadryl 24 hours before and after vaccinations to prevent this.
Training & Support
Chance is still learning to navigate the world and can be a bit anxious around loud noises and fast movements, though he does wonderfully in public with a gentle approach. He is food motivated and will let you know if dinner is running late! He is working on his potty skills outside and wears a belly band when left alone. He is also learning to walk on a leash and gain confidence with a long line at the park. He does spectacularly free-roaming the house and should not be crated.
