Lucy is a delightful 5-year-old, 31 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix who's ready to trade her past for a bright future! She arrived with us from a situation where she was living on a chain, and thankfully, her previous owner allowed us to spay her. Once she recovered, they decided to let her join our rescue, and we're so glad they did! Lucy is currently thriving in a Texas foster home with 8 other dogs, learning all about love and belonging.
She's a charming, smaller Blue Heeler with a heart of gold. Lucy is loyal, observant, and incredibly smart, though she can be a little bossy with some dogs. Despite her intelligence, she's generally mellow and easy-going. She’s already mastered being potty trained, crate trained (though she’d much rather be by your side!), and leash trained. Lucy absolutely adores affection but isn't the needy type. She's playful with most dogs, though she might exhibit some classic Heeler heel-nipping if she doesn't click with another pup. You'll find she's always the reigning champion of fetch and has so far ignored the resident cats. She does seem a bit perplexed by very small dogs, a quirk we're still unraveling! Lucy walks beautifully in public and is a fantastic car rider. She’s been spayed, microchipped, is up-to-date on all her vaccines and preventatives, and is in excellent health.
Ideal Home
Lucy can be a bit timid around new people and needs a little time to warm up, so a patient and understanding family is a must. She would thrive with someone familiar with herding breeds, as she exhibits many typical Heeler behaviors like supervising everything, following her humans from room to room, and offering dramatic side-eye when judging life choices (it's part of her charm!).

Lucy is potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She’s playful with most dogs but might nip at the heels of dogs she doesn't immediately like. She is also a bit unsure around very small dogs.

Transporation
Lucy is currently in Texas. Out-of-state adopters are welcome! Private transport can be arranged with K9 Delivery LLC for $200, which includes a health certificate, vet exam, and transportation to your area.
