Meet Wilbur, the goofy gentle giant who's ready to steal your heart! This handsome American Bulldog is 70 pounds of pure love, laughter, and loyalty. Wilbur's greatest wish is to be your best friend and shadow, with you as the center of his world. He has a big personality and an even bigger heart, always ready with a goofy grin and a craving for belly rubs. Wilbur loves his lick mats and will keep you smiling with his silly antics. Thanks to his foster mom, he's blossomed and is revealing the sweet, soulful pup he truly is.

Ideal Home

Wilbur would thrive in a home with another dog of similar size, as he plays best with pals his own size. He'd prefer a house with a yard for playing. Wilbur does best with children over 13 years old and politely asks that no cats join the family.

Ongoing Health

Wilbur, like many larger breeds, has arthritis and hip dysplasia. These conditions are managed with medication, supplements, and CBD administration.

Training & Support

Wilbur is house-trained and enjoys 1-2 longer walks per day, with three walks total each day. He is also crate-trained and comfortable sleeping and playing in his crate. While he walks well with a gentle lead currently, this may change with training. Wilbur tends to jump up, but this behavior should be curable with training. He also has a strong desire to chase ducks or chickens, so please ensure he's kept away from them. Wilbur is a tester dog and is very neutral, he currently lives with a Boston terrier and they have no issues hanging out, just make sure slow intros are adhered to. Patience, love, and belly rubs will go a long way in helping Wilbur de-stress during his transition.
