August

August is a precious 13-year-old Chihuahua who weighs just 6 pounds. He is the friendliest of the little survivors from a hoarding situation where 130 dogs were rescued. While many of his friends are still learning to trust, August has already decided that people are wonderful and will happily trot over to ask for love. If you're not paying enough attention to him, he'll let out the cutest little squeaky cry to remind you he's waiting for cuddles! August is quiet, affectionate, and happiest curled up in your arms or tucked beside you under a blanket. His bark isn't really a bark at all-it's more of an adorable little squeak that somehow makes him even more irresistible.

Ideal Home

August would prefer to avoid lots of stairs, though at just 6 pounds he's incredibly easy to scoop up and carry. He wouldn't mind if you simply made him your permanent "purse dog" and took him everywhere with you!

Ongoing Health

August is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

Training & Support

He is crate trained, rides beautifully in the car, and is making progress with leash walking. August gets along well with cats, other small dogs, and even gentle larger dogs. Respectful children are welcome too.

• Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year-round.
• You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt.
• Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready.

Transporation

We are located in Bloomington, IL. We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your new family member if you live out of state.
