Meet Michelle! This sweet 3-year-old, 48-pound Staffordshire Terrier mix is ready to bring a bundle of joy and cuddles into your life. Michelle was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, eagerly awaiting her second chance at a forever family. She's a social butterfly who adores her canine foster siblings, engaging in playful romps and cozy naps with them. Michelle is friendly and affectionate, always eager to be near her people, often resting her whole upper body on your lap for some quality snuggle time.
Ideal Home
Michelle would thrive in a home with another friendly dog. She has met children ages 8 and up and was very sweet, but due to her enthusiastic jumping, we recommend a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy younger teens who can handle her excitement. She would do great in an apartment or urban setting as long as she gets consistent exercise and enrichment. A secure yard or leash walks are a must, as she is an escape artist who can scale fences.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is a healthy pup who has been spayed.
Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained, even choosing to rest in her crate during the day. She is food motivated and learns quickly, but she does tend to be a bit sneaky around food and is best fed separately. She responds well to redirection and continued leash training will help her improve her pulling. She also enjoys chewing, especially on outdoor finds, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.
