Nala is a charming four-year-old Cattle Dog mix who is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She arrived with us from an overcrowded shelter out of state and is ready for her forever home! Nala is wonderfully social with people and does well with other dogs after a proper introduction. She's not a fan of cats, though.
Nala absolutely adores neck scratches, belly rubs, and being brushed. She thrives on attention and is eager to please, knowing some commands and displaying a keen intelligence that makes her a joy to train. Her favorite activities include running, herding, and spending time outdoors enjoying wide-open spaces. She's comfortable in a doghouse, barn, or outbuilding, as long as she has the freedom to go outside.
Nala has a unique visual impairment; she has blurred vision directly in front of her eyes, relying more on her peripheral vision and hearing. This results in a distinctive zig-zagging gait when she's on leash as she navigates and takes her bearings. Despite this, Nala is a capable and enthusiastic dog, and would be happiest on a farm or ranch where she can happily herd and run to her heart's content.
Ideal Home
Nala would thrive in a home that can provide her with plenty of outdoor space and opportunities for herding and running. She is not a good fit for homes with cats.
Ongoing Health
Nala has an injury centered in each eye, resulting in blurred vision directly in front of her. She is not blind and relies on her peripheral vision and hearing.
Training & Support
Nala knows some basic commands and is very smart and attentive, eager to learn more. Her unique leash-walking style is a result of her vision, and she will zig-zag to orient herself.

Nala is located in St. Anthony, ID. We require a meet and greet at your home with family and pets, and are therefore limited to a 60-mile radius from St. Anthony, ID. Exceptions can be discussed.
