Athena, a 1-year-old (estimated DOB May 2025) Terrier mix, is a spirited and affectionate young pup who found herself in need of a loving home. She and her siblings were discovered abandoned in the woods, a heartbreaking start that she's quickly overcoming with her resilient spirit. Now weighing around 35 pounds, Athena is a bundle of playful energy and curiosity, eager to embrace all that life has to offer. Her time in a foster home has allowed her to blossom, revealing a dog full of personality, including delightful zoomies!
Ideal Home
Athena would thrive in an active household that understands and can embrace her puppy behaviors. She needs a family committed to providing ample daily exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of appropriate chew toys to satisfy her chewing phase. Consistency, patience, and structure will be key to her continued growth into a wonderful adult companion. While she enjoys the company of dogs and is learning social boundaries, a home without cats might be ideal due to her strong play drive, though a cat-savvy home with careful introductions could potentially work.
Ongoing Health
Athena is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. As a young dog, she is still navigating typical puppy behaviors and development.
Training & Support
Athena is already a smart cookie, knowing commands like sit, down, drop it, and come! She's eager to learn and will continue to flourish with positive reinforcement training. Her foster home is working with her on understanding canine social cues, and she's making great progress. Continued training and socialization are encouraged to help her fully mature.
