Ritchey Roo, affectionately known as Richard, is an approximately 5-6 year old, 90 lb bundle of joy! He's a happy-go-lucky guy who loves his people and enjoys lounging around, but he also has bursts of boundless energy. Richard is house-trained and can happily entertain himself when you're away. He's a master of the "OVER" command, ensuring everyone gets their space on the bed, even if he initially loves to snuggle up close. While he's not a fan of toys or fetch, he adores car rides and leisurely walks (though he does need some leash training as he can be a strong puller). Richard is well-loved at boarding facilities for his easy-going nature and good company. He has a unique personality that can be both gently affectionate and enthusiastically "in your face" when food or a leash is involved! He can also be a bit vocal when he has something to say, often with humorous results.
Ideal Home
A home with a fenced yard would be ideal for Ritchey to safely explore and get his energy out. He would thrive as the only beloved pet in the household, as he tends to be overwhelmed by other dogs.
Ongoing Health
Ritchey came to us underweight, and while he's gained to a healthy 90 lbs, he could benefit from a diet and/or increased physical activity to reach his ideal weight.
Training & Support
Ritchey needs some leash training as he can be a strong puller. He also has a tendency to jump and get overly excited, especially when food or a leash is present, so continued positive reinforcement and redirection will be beneficial.
