Parker Sunday Stroll

Parker is a quiet, gentle, and easygoing boy who prefers to settle into the moment rather than rush through it. He has a soft presence, a calm nature, and a respectful way of moving through the world, bringing a peaceful energy that can make any home feel a little more grounded. Parker is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 21 lbs. While he appears to be a Portuguese Podengo, as with all rescues, his breed and age are our best guess.

Ideal Home

Parker would thrive in a multi-dog home where he can take cues from confident, friendly dogs. He enjoys being part of the pack and doesn't need to be the center of attention. He would do well in a house with a yard for exploration or in a quieter, lower-traffic apartment, especially during his initial adjustment period.

Training & Support

Parker is house-trained and sleeps through the night. While he is shy with new people and takes affection slowly, he allows handling without issue and shows no aggression, only a gentle hesitation. He will benefit from a patient, understanding home that gives him space to decompress. He is still building confidence on leash and can find new environments a bit overwhelming, but he handles walks well and will continue to improve with gentle guidance and exposure.

Parker is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
