Hemi is a lovable and energetic boy looking for his perfect match! This nearly 5-year-old Pitbull mix has a heart full of love to give, but he needs a special kind of home to truly shine. Hemi thrives in a quiet environment with one or two adults who can offer him patience and understanding. He can be a bit stressed by new people entering his space, so a home with no visitors for a while would be ideal as he adjusts. While it takes time for Hemi to warm up to new acquaintances, once he knows and trusts you, he is incredibly affectionate, loves gentle petting, belly scratches, and a good chat. He's a smart boy who takes treats ever so gently and is a joy to interact with once he feels secure.

Ideal Home

Hemi would do best as the only dog in a quiet home with one or two adults. He can get stressed by strangers entering the same room, so a home environment with no visitors initially would be ideal as he settles in.

Hemi is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. His birthdate is September 15, 2016.

Training & Support

Hemi is strong on leash and will bark excessively and may show his teeth to strangers as he feels he is protecting his people. He takes treats very gently and loves being petted, belly scratched, and talked to by his staff. Patience and consistent positive reinforcement will be key to his adjustment in a new home.
