Princess Leia is a charming 4-year-old lady with a beautiful, sleek coat, a touch of white on her chest, and the sweetest amber eyes. Her DNA reveals a mix of Labrador Retriever, American Pitbull Terrier, and German Shepherd, giving her a unique and lovely appearance. Leia and her brother, Luke, were found fending for themselves on the streets of Houston for three weeks before being rescued. They were found to be unfixed and, unfortunately, Leia was in heat, attracting unwanted attention. After a challenging time, they were finally brought to safety, where Leia was spayed and fully vetted. She is now ready to find her forever home!
Ideal Home
Princess Leia would thrive in a home with a yard where she can play and explore. A comfortable spot to relax, perhaps a cool bed for sunbathing and dreaming of butterflies, would be perfect. While she enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well with a canine friend, she would also be content with just her humans. She can be a little skittish around new people, but warms up quickly when they are seated. She is an alert dog and has a big bark, so she'll let you know if anything is amiss! She's not a fan of being outside in the dark and prefers to come inside when it gets dim.

Princess Leia is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is microchipped.
Training & Support
Princess Leia is potty trained and will sometimes ring the doorbells to let you know she needs to go out. She is also crate trained for naps and nighttime. She has learned to be independent and is no longer anxious when separated from her sibling. She responds well to a "dog whistle" for redirection if play gets too rough. She is a quick learner, mastering "sit" faster than her brother! She does experience car sickness, but it seems to be dependent on the vehicle; she fares better in SUVs than in sedans.
