About Miranda

Miranda is an approximately 1 year and 9 month-old Caramelo Dog / Labrador Retriever mix weighing about 46 pounds. She is a very affectionate girl with lots of energy and a naturally protective personality. She forms strong bonds with her people and likes to stay aware of her surroundings. Miranda will bark if she senses something is wrong or if she feels threatened or mistreated. Although she is loving and social, Miranda can be a little nervous at first and may need some time to feel fully comfortable in new situations. Before being rescued, Miranda was wandering the streets of Houston searching for safety and food. She eventually found refuge at a construction site where the workers and a woman who sold food nearby began feeding her regularly. When the construction project ended, the woman worried Miranda would once again be left alone on the streets, so she took her home temporarily and later asked for help to fully rescue her. Today, Miranda is safe and ready to find a forever family that will give her the love, stability, and companionship she has always deserved.

Ideal Home

A house with a fenced backyard, families that enjoy outdoor activities, and families with an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals and their behaviors requiring protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, as well as high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies.

Ongoing Health

Miranda is spayed/neutered, has received DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, has been dewormed, and has a heartworm test certificate and health certificate. She also comes with a vaccines booklet.

Training & Support

Miranda is crate trained and walks well on a leash. While she is house-trained, the foster organization notes that it is an impossible job to house-train each rescued pet due to the sheer number of animals needing care. This means adopters should be prepared to continue house-training efforts.
