Meet Gaia! Gaia and her puppies were found abandoned and faced an uncertain future at a crowded local pound. Thankfully, Amazing Strays Rescue stepped in, and Gaia has been safe in a foster home, learning to trust and just be a dog again. She has come such a long way!

Once too terrified to be touched, this incredibly sweet girl has blossomed into a playful, curious companion who is truly something special. She may be a little reserved when you first meet her, but don't mistake quiet for indifferent—she is gentle and sweet from the very first moment. Give her a little time and patience, and she will reward you tenfold. Once she decides she trusts you, her whole personality opens up and the most adorable, playful, loving dog emerges. She is absolutely worth the wait.

Gaia is around 2 years old and weighs only 40 lbs. She is thought to be a whippet-lab mix with the most gorgeous Bambi-like body—all legs, grace, and athleticism! This girl was built to move. She makes an incredible running companion and loves walks, adventures, and car rides equally.

Ideal Home

Gaia shines in a calm and patient environment with adults or older, predictable kids. She prefers a cozy dog bed over a crate and is simply looking for someone willing to give her the space to become who she already is on the inside.

Ongoing Health

Gaia is a healthy girl who has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Gaia is still learning and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to build confidence. She has thrived alongside smaller, mellow dogs and has enjoyed following the lead of her calm little foster sister.
