Meet Churro - a 65-pound Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as sweet as his name! Churro is a happy-go-lucky boy who always seems to be smiling and spreading positive vibes wherever he goes. With his constantly wagging tail and adventurous spirit, he's always ready for fun. Churro loves following interesting scents, chasing toys, and going on walks to explore the world around him. He's an incredibly social dog who absolutely thrives around both people and other dogs. In fact, Churro would love a home with another playful canine companion to be his built-in best friend. While Churro isn't the best fit for a home with cats due to his enthusiastic energy level, he more than makes up for it with his many wonderful qualities. He's food motivated, eager to learn, and enjoys picking up new skills and tricks. As an added bonus, Churro is bilingual and understands both English and Spanish! If you're looking for a friendly, adventurous, and affectionate companion who's always ready to brighten your day, Churro may be your perfect match. Churro is participating in our Paws in Prison program and will be graduating on 7/10/2026. He will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Ideal Home

Churro would love a home with another playful canine companion to be his built-in best friend. He is not a good fit for a home with cats due to his enthusiastic energy level. He will do best in homes where he is primarily inside dogs and spends lots of time with his families.

Ongoing Health

Churro will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Churro is receiving basic obedience training through our Paws in Prison program, where he will graduate on 7/10/2026. He spends 24 hours a day with his trainers, so there will be an adjustment period as he adapts to his new family's schedule. The adoptive family will receive his training journal, which documents his progress and interactions with his trainers.
