Meet Zena!

Zena is a spirited five-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/German Shepherd mix with a striking black-and-white coat. At around 80 pounds, she's a large breed girl bursting with loyalty, affection, and personality! Zena can be a little cautious around new people, but with patience and treats, she quickly warms up and becomes a devoted friend. She has a wonderful history of living peacefully with children (ages 9-18), cats, a small puppy, and even rabbits! While she can be selective with unfamiliar dogs, she does well with careful, positive introductions. Zena loves to run, explore, chew on deer antlers, and enjoy tasty treats. She knows commands like "sit," "paw," and "lay down," comes when called, and enjoys car rides!

Ideal Home

Zena thrives with an active family who enjoys the outdoors. She would do best with a physically capable guardian who can continue her leash-training journey, as she can pull strongly when excited. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to safely explore.

Ongoing Health

Zena is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is in good health, though she experiences some anxiety during veterinary visits, which is managed with medication.

Training & Support

Zena is house-trained and knows several commands. Continued positive reinforcement for leash training will help her succeed.

Zena is currently located in Brimfield, MA. Long-distance adoptions are welcome, and transport can be arranged.
