Meet Smokey! He's a 2-year-old, 53-pound male Cane Corso and Weimaraner mix who arrived at our shelter as a stray. Smokey is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and eagerly awaiting his forever family! He's a wonderfully sweet and affectionate boy who simply craves love and attention. Smokey is incredibly smart and learns quickly, and his gentle, kind-hearted nature makes him a truly special companion. He enjoys a good snuggle and quiet time, often described as a couch potato who is more than happy to relax with you all day. Smokey is also submissive during play and loves a good game of chase with his canine friends.
Ideal Home
Smokey would be happiest in a home without cats. He would thrive in a low-traffic environment due to his initial shyness with new people, and would do best with someone who works from home or can provide frequent companionship, as he experiences some separation anxiety. A house would be preferred over an apartment.
Ongoing Health
Smokey is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained. He walks great on a leash and is easily redirected if he gets a little excited, though he may pull slightly at first. He is not a fan of being crated and will cry and whine if confined. Due to his separation anxiety, he does cry for a bit when left alone, but he does stop and doesn't damage anything. Providing him with a companion dog could also be beneficial as he loves playing with other dogs.
