Gunner is a 3-year-old, 50-pound male black and tan hound mix with a heart as big as his appetite for adventure and cuddles. He was rescued from a small-town dog pound and is now ready to find his forever family. Gunner is a true indoor dog, especially in the Texas heat. He loves nothing more than to snooze on the couch in the cool air conditioning, but he'll happily venture out for a quick romp and wrestle with his doggy friends before seeking refuge back inside. He's a social butterfly who adores other dogs and thrives on human attention and petting. His favorite things include toys, treats, and a good couch nap.
Ideal Home
Gunner would love a home where he can be a cherished indoor companion. He's a hound through and through, so be prepared for some enthusiastic squirrel-chasing and barking at passersby. He's also a master counter-surfer and garbage-raider if given the chance, so a secure kitchen is a must!
Ongoing Health
Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He is up-to-date on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
Gunner is already crate-trained and comes when called. He's a pro at riding in vehicles, sitting for treats, and walking on a leash. He even tolerates baths! However, he does bark at people and other animals he sees outside, and he's known to counter-surf and raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured.
