Meet KJ — a quiet soul looking for a place to call home! KJ is a one-of-a-kind shepherd/corgi mix with a heart as unique as his look. Just over a year old, KJ spent his early life surviving on his own with his mom, brother, and a small pack. Because of that, he’s still learning to trust people—but with patience and love, he’s making great progress. KJ isn’t a social butterfly, but he’s incredibly dog-friendly and thrives around canine companions. He quietly follows his foster mom around the house and, on his terms, comes over for gentle check-ins. His favorite moment of the day? Curling up beside his foster mom on the bed at night, staying close till morning.
Ideal Home
KJ would do best in a quiet, adult-only home without young kids. He needs a calm, structured environment and someone who understands that progress takes time. A securely fenced yard (at least 6 feet tall) is a must—KJ is a jumper and can clear anything shorter.
Ongoing Health
KJ is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $135.
Training & Support
KJ walks well on a leash—once you can get it on him. The trick? KJ needs to be in his kennel first to safely get leashed, as he’s still wary of hands reaching toward him. He enjoys walks and will definitely benefit from the routine. KJ is fully kennel trained and considers his crate his personal safe space. When life gets overwhelming, that’s where he goes to reset. He’s also housebroken with a consistent schedule.
