About Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix, currently weighing 45 lbs. She's estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. Coraline is a delightful blend of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining. Her quirky charm will have you laughing daily, especially with her love for peek-a-boo! When you play, she gets the happiest zoomies, thrilled to share the fun. Coraline is very people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, quietly observing and following them around like a shadow. She's not overly clingy, making her an easy companion. She shows affection through sweet puppy kisses or gently resting a paw or her nose on your leg while she drifts off to sleep. Her calm and balanced temperament makes her a wonderful work-from-home buddy. She's happy entertaining herself quietly with a toy or bone, no constant supervision needed. Coraline is also incredibly social with people and other dogs, greeting new friends calmly before happily moving on to play or explore. She's the perfect mix of playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend all in one.

Ideal Home

Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of playful energy, easily satisfied with playtime and zoomies. She's generally laid back but may become more energetic as she matures. She'd thrive in a home that enjoys a balance of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks and patio outings to cozy evenings on the couch. She forms deep emotional bonds and loves to be involved in her family's daily routine. Short walks and backyard play sessions are ideal, but she's happy to join in on longer hikes or beach trips. Given her intelligence and curiosity, puzzle toys, treat-dispensing games, squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys will keep her entertained. A BarkBox subscription would be a monthly delight for her! Coraline can be a bit unsure in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization as she grows, she has the potential to be an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She'd adore a family that includes her in outdoor adventures while appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. Coraline needs a fenced yard to run and play in. She enjoys sitting on elevated dog beds on the porch or sunbathing in the grass. Due to her potential size and nervousness in busy areas, no apartments or condos are suitable, as loud noises might make her uneasy during potty breaks. She absolutely needs to live in a home with another friendly, confident dog. She requires her human to be home more often than not, though doggy daycare a few days a week would be fine.

Training & Support

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still working on mastering leash training and needs additional practice to boost her confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a dog door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially and kept on a consistent schedule until she settles into her new routine. Using a doggy doorbell can help her learn to notify you if there isn't a dog door.
