Skye is a beautiful 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix who was found as a stray dragging a large chain. Shepherds rarely do well in a shelter setting, so we couldn't say no to taking her on. Skye seemed to lack exposure to a lot of things when she first arrived at her foster home and was a bit insecure. Thanks to her foster mom, she's thriving and has shown just how much of an amazing dog she really is! Skye is a goofy, happy girl and has been nothing but a love bug while in our care. She has a surprisingly low level of reactivity for a Shepherd. She's great in her crate, does well in the car, and loves a good belly rub. If you have a love for GSDs, she's your girl! She is young and is still working on her manners. She can be a bit play-mouthy and jumps up when excited, so small children may not be the best fit. She's been a sweet girl with kids around in a controlled setting. Skye is a good girl around the kitties in her foster home after learning that chasing them isn't their favorite thing. She's been great with other dogs and would love a buddy. Skye will benefit from continued training. Providing structure and boundaries will ensure that she keeps the label of "goodest girl ever." She would do best with people that understand and respect the breed and are willing to set her up for success. She does have a big bark, but like many Sheppies, it's all bark and no bite. Skye absolutely loved joining her foster mom for canicross. She's an active girl. She would prefer to find a family that will make sure she gets to enjoy even more outdoor adventures.

Training & Support
Skye is still working on her manners and can be a bit play-mouthy and jumps up when excited. Crating is a requirement as she can be an opportunist if left out and will chew through a tether if she can. She loves her crate and it keeps her safe when she can't be supervised! Providing structure/boundaries will ensure that she keeps the label of goodest girl ever.
