Meet George!
George is a devoted three-year-old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix with a striking tricolor coat and a towering yet gentle stature at 112 pounds. He is a beautiful blend of loyalty, intelligence, and quiet strength. Though his early life was harsh and lonely, George has spent the last 15 months with a foster family who helped him rediscover what it means to be safe, loved, and understood. He’s not a dog who demands constant cuddles; he’s the type who’ll quietly lay at your feet while you’re cooking dinner, or settle beside you on the floor as you unwind with a movie. His affection is deep, and when he chooses to show it, it’s a moment you won’t forget! George is house-trained, leash-savvy, and knows several commands like sit, down, shake, easy, and stay. He thrives on predictability and responds beautifully to gentle guidance and clear routines. He enjoys human companionship but also values having his own space. He’s the kind of dog who builds bonds slowly, and once you're in his circle, you're there for life!
Ideal Home
George is most compatible with a calm, structured environment and a guardian who understands that trust isn’t instant, it’s built over time. He’s not suited to apartments or small condos; he needs room to roam, think, and feel secure. George may be most compatible in a home without other male dogs.
Ongoing Health
George had one fear-based bite incident during a meet-and-greet when a well-meaning visitor moved too quickly into his space and repeatedly patted his head, a sensitive area for George due to past trauma. In a separate instance, George snapped (without making contact) when a new person leaned in face-to-face with him in an unfamiliar environment, a clear signal that he needs space and time to feel safe before close physical contact. George has also shown some food-related guarding tendencies. A professional trainer evaluated him and confirmed that George is not aggressive but is a sensitive, thoughtful dog reacting in ways consistent with his breed and background.
