Greta is a sweet and gentle Labrador mix with a loving heart. This approximately 7-year-old, 66 lb girl is house-trained and knows how to use a designated potty spot. She's also crate-trained, making her a well-mannered addition to any home. When Greta first meets new people, she can be a bit shy and fearful, needing patience and kindness to feel safe. Once she gains confidence, her personality truly shines. She becomes super friendly, loves head scratches, and will even offer her paw as a sweet thank you! While she enjoys a calm and peaceful environment, Greta is still an active dog who loves to run and play. She's looking for a family that understands her need for both gentle reassurance and regular exercise.
Ideal Home
Greta would do best in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer to help this intelligent dog thrive. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Greta has received the following health protocols: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 shots of DHPPI Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, is dewormed, microchipped, has a 4DX Test and Certificate, a Heartworm test Negative Certificate, and is on Monthly Preventive Protection Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm). She also has a Health Certificate and a Vaccines booklet.
Training & Support
It is important to understand that Greta, like many rescued dogs, may not be house-trained. The rescue invests heavily in the health and emotional rehabilitation of their animals but does not have the resources to house-train each one. Patience and understanding are crucial, as rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt to new environments and people. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help her feel secure.
