Pokey!

Meet Pokey, a charming young pup with a bright future! Pokey's estimated date of birth is May 2023, and he currently weighs around 32lbs. He arrived at our rescue in less-than-ideal condition from a local shelter, but thanks to good care and plenty of nutritious food, he has truly blossomed. Based on his handsome coloration and playful antics, we suspect he's a mix with some Cattle Dog in his heritage. Pokey is a curious and active boy who enjoys exploring the neighborhood on his daily walks. He's still learning to navigate the world and will benefit from continued exposure and positive reinforcement as he grows.

Ideal Home

Pokey is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can continue to build his confidence. He can be a bit shy around new people and sometimes other dogs, so a calm environment will be best for his transition. While he's doing well, he does have a preference for homes without young children; older, respectful children would be a great fit. A securely fenced yard is a must for Pokey to safely explore and play. He's a strong and energetic player, so a resident canine companion who enjoys a good romp would be a wonderful addition to the family!

Ongoing Health

Pokey is a healthy and happy pup who has received all necessary veterinary care.

Training & Support

Pokey is working on his confidence and would benefit from continued training and socialization. He's mastered using a doggy door and is doing great with potty training. He sleeps soundly in his crate at night. With consistent leadership and positive guidance, Pokey is sure to continue blossoming into a well-adjusted companion.
