Dallas

Dallas came to us from the Nogales shelter where he was at risk due to overcrowding. This medium-sized, white cutie is around 5 years old and weighs in at 24-25 lbs. He's full of love and life, super active, and adores attention. Dallas can be a little apprehensive in new situations and surroundings, so he'll need some time to adjust. He doesn't do well when forced to do things he dislikes or is unfamiliar with. He is mostly house-trained and knows how to use a doggie door. Dallas crates easily with a treat and tolerates it well. He can be vocal if other dogs are around and not crated, but once settled, he remains quiet. Dallas walks nicely on a leash and, while he may be vocal initially in public settings, he settles down after exploring and meeting other dogs.

Ideal Home

Dallas absolutely loves to play with other dogs, regardless of size! He romps with Great Pyrenees and Chihuahuas, though he occasionally needs a reminder that the little ones can't handle his intensity and energy. Considering his exuberant personality, we do not believe he would be a good fit for a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

Dallas has a slight palsy-like tic around his front legs and feet. This is only noticeable when he is calm and relaxed and does not affect him at all. This condition arose after his neuter surgery, and his new vet should be made aware of it in case of future need for anesthesia.

Training & Support

Dallas is mostly house-trained and knows how to use the doggie door. He crates up easily with a treat and tolerates being crated well. He can be vocal if other dogs are around and not crated, but he settles down once he's comfortable. He walks nicely on leash and generally settles in public settings after an initial period of exploration.
