Meet Duncan! This handsome adult Maltese is a smart and affectionate boy with a soft side, but he does come with some very specific needs. Duncan is looking for an experienced and understanding adopter who will respect his boundaries without exception.

Duncan is a resource guarder and will guard his food, treats, and toys. He does not tolerate people reaching into his space, especially his crate. Because of this, Duncan is not a good fit for homes with children, other dogs, or high-energy environments. He truly thrives in calm, low-stimulation settings where he can make choices on his own terms.

Despite his challenges, Duncan is a very sweet and cuddly companion who loves to curl up in your lap or snuggle on the couch. He's already potty trained and crate trained, and his treat-motivated nature makes structured training and routines very effective for him. He enjoys toys (with supervision) and learning new things.

Ideal Home

Duncan needs an experienced adopter who will respect his boundaries, provide a consistent routine, and love him for who he is. He is not a beginner's dog. He thrives in calm, low-stimulation, adult-only settings.

Duncan is a neutered male Maltese. He is up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Duncan is potty trained and crate trained. He is treat-motivated, which makes structured training and routines effective. He needs continued reinforcement of his boundaries and supervision with toys.
