Onyx is a handsome boy with a sweet and gentle nature. He's still learning to trust, as his past is a bit of a mystery. He prefers to take his time getting to know new people and other dogs, observing quietly before deciding he's ready to engage. Once he trusts you, Onyx is an incredibly loyal companion who will be by your side through thick and thin. He enjoys his daily walks and politely sits for his leash. He's also crate trained, has great house manners, and is eager to please. Onyx knows several commands, including sit, shake, leave it, watch, down, come, and stay. He's gentle when taking treats and enjoys chewing on bones and playing with toys. Watching him discover how to just be a dog has been a joy for his foster family. Onyx needs a patient and understanding family who will celebrate his small victories and cherish quiet moments with him. He's not looking for a rescuer, but for someone to believe in him and help him discover what forever feels like.

Ideal Home

Onyx would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention. If there's another dog, slow and thoughtful introductions are a must to help him feel safe and comfortable. He would also do best in a home without young children as he's still building his confidence.
