Meet Graceful Goldens. My mission is to provide healthy, well-mannered, and beautiful American (gold to dark gold) and European (very light to almost white) Retriever puppies to individuals and families. To that end, I use Genetic Testing, CHIC Health Clearances, and Golden Retriever Confirmation Standards to guide mating selections. All parents are OFA CHIC certified, Genetically tested for diseases and disorders common to the breed as set forth by the Golden Retriever Club of America, and AKC DNA profiled to verify parentage. These sweet darlings are lovingly raised in our home with intention and methodical processes. If you are unfamiliar with the term, "CHIC," The OFA created the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) by partnering with participating breed-specific parent clubs to research and maintain information on the health issues prevalent to those specific breeds. The Canine Health Information Center established a recommended protocol for breed-specific health screenings and created a registry for potential puppy buyers to verify a dog's health. A dog achieves CHIC Certification if it has been screened for every disease recommended by the parent club for that breed and those results are publicly available in the database. When looking for a breeder, this term SHOULD be known. If the breeder does not know what CHIC is, you are NOT dealing with a reputable breeder so proceed with caution. About our home- I ensure a safe and calm environment for the mamas to relax and provide enriching and challenging opportunities for puppies to be curious, play, and learn to socialize. By providing age-appropriate stimulation and activities, puppies build skills, confidence, and courage to face the world with boundless energy. I believe in high-quality nutrition and supplementation which is optimal for growth and development and seize all opportunities to teach puppies commands, boundaries, and what is expected of them in a home-like setting. I follow the guidelines suggested by Kelly Nichols in her book Puppy Brain to capitalize on critical developmental milestones to ensure a sound temperament and above-average intelligence. Nutrition: Science Diet / Raw and supplement with Vitamin E, Biotin, B-Complex, Fish Oil, Pet-Tabs, and Calcium Phosphorus. Mothers are exercised and played with daily and special attention is paid to the gestational period to provide a sense of safety and security. In addition, I am hands-on to love and support the mamas during the whelping process. All pups receive: ENS and ESI therapy from days 3-21. Exposure therapy to grooming essentials and common fear-inducing events. Barrier Challenges build agility, confidence, and coordination. Are raised indoors and are socialized using the SPCA Rule of 7's Avidog Puppy Culture, Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy Brain are used as source material. Wendy Volhard's Temperament Testing at 7 weeks' Conformation Evaluation at 7 weeks Crate-trained Well-mannered training to teach boundaries regarding jumping on people, nibbling fingers, chewing on furniture, and are introduced to a doggy door. Microchipped through AKC Reunite Pups learn: Come Sit Shake (gimme 5) Down (Four on the floor) No-No (Chewing on furniture) Leave it No Nibbles Here Back Puppies stay with their mom for 8 weeks to receive proper guidance in social skills and play boundaries (bite inhibition.) They will not have had their first set of vaccinations due to pups continuing to comfort nurse through 8 weeks so I recommend that pups receive vaccines 2 weeks after being weaned. Pups receive a neonatal health exam and four rounds of dewormer. Pups receive a puppy folder with an expansive 56-day puppy tracker so you know what your puppy experienced and when. I also provide dewormer documentation for you to take to your first puppy visit. I guarantee that your puppy will be well-mannered and healthy.
