Meet Norman!
Norman is a snuggly four-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs 73 pounds. He's a gentle, goofy soul who loves cuddles, comfy dog beds, and spending quality time with his people. Norman is a classic couch potato with a silly streak, often flopping onto his back to flash an adorable grin. Walks, training games, and belly rubs are his favorite things, and he truly shines when given love and structure. His routine is flexible, and he's happy as long as he has someone to nap near and a little mental stimulation each day. He’s nicknamed the “velvet hippo” and his tortilla chip-shaped ears add extra charm to his lovable look.
Ideal Home
Norman does best in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He is not suited for a home with small children. He can be compatible with older, respectful kids and some dogs with slow introductions.
Ongoing Health
Norman is up-to-date on his vaccinations and neutered.
Training & Support
Norman is crate trained, house-trained, and knows several commands including “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “place,” and he’s currently mastering “leave it.” He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistency. Norman is selective with both dogs and new people and has shown reactivity in certain situations. While he has never displayed people-reactivity inside the home, he needs careful introductions and continued guidance outside. His adoption includes four professional training sessions and a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant to help with a smooth transition. Continued obedience training and positive reinforcement will help him stay confident and successful on walks.
