Louie is a playful, easygoing 6-year-old Shihtese mix who enjoys walks on the beach, running in a big backyard, and spending time with his person. He has made great progress with socialization and is becoming more comfortable visiting new places.
Louie enjoys the company of other dogs and has been doing well with introductions, though he is still learning how to play. He does not seem to care about cats.
Ideal Home
Louie would do best in a quiet, adult-only home because he resource guards food, treats, and toys. He may be open to children aged 10 and older if it is the right fit. He can also become territorial of his space and person when visitors arrive, but responds well to clear boundaries and guidance.
Ongoing Health
Louie has epilepsy and previously needed seizure medication. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines.
Training & Support
Louie was under-socialized when he arrived, but his foster has helped him experience more of the outside world. He may feel nervous in the car when visiting new places, though he has improved with practice. Please give him space while he is eating or interacting with his food, treats, or toys.
