Hi world, I’m Sparky: a spunky 14-year-old Chihuahua with the chaotic energy of a toddler after three Red Bulls and the charm of an unhinged soap opera villain. If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I want a dog who is equal parts adorable, gross, and slightly unwell,” then congratulations, you may be my one true match.
Here’s what you’re getting into:
- I have approximately 5 teeth, and I use them to make alarming mouth noises while kissing you with my entire tongue.
- Food is my religion. I would sell my soul for a chicken nugget.
- I have a giant Olaf stuffy who is my boyfriend. Yes, it’s serious. Yes, we’re in love. Don’t ask questions.
- I live for blanket burritos. If I disappear, just check under a blanket mountain.
- I am what the professionals call “a marker.” Translation: I think every square inch of Earth belongs to me. I’m learning to rock a belly band like it’s high fashion.
- Nail trims? Forget it. If you come at me with clippers, I will turn into Cujo. Respect my boundaries.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am also ridiculously cute. I am small enough to carry like a football, have eyes that pop out of my skull and say “I know your secrets,” and a gremlin energy that will keep you endlessly entertained. I may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for the right person, I am the whole pot of slightly unhinged espresso. So if you’ve got a soft spot for senior chaos gremlins who are equal parts disgusting and delightful, I’m your guy. Prepare to be adored (and maybe drooled on).
Ideal Home
A home that understands and respects my boundaries, especially around nail trims. I am also a marker, and I'm learning to adapt with a belly band.
Ongoing Health
Sparky was recently diagnosed with heart disease and will be on lifelong medication to manage his symptoms. While he is slowing down, he is just and sweet, cuddly, and lovable. He is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
I am a marker and am working on this with a belly band. I also have a strong aversion to nail trims and will become defensive if clippers are brought out.
