Meet Bree! This sweet Shih Tzu/Poodle mix is about 3 years old and is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. Bree was found as a stray and found shelter life a bit overwhelming. However, once she received some one-on-one attention, her true, loving personality began to shine! She was a perfect lady during her car ride and soaked up affection when given the chance. She recently enjoyed a much-needed spa day and hotel stay, which helped her recover from a heavily overgrown and matted coat. Going forward, Bree will need regular professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep her comfortable and looking her best.
Ideal Home
Bree is still settling in, so we're learning more about her every day. While she can be a little cautious meeting new people through a kennel barrier, she shows a gentle and affectionate side once she trusts someone. If you're looking for a sweet companion who deserves a second chance and are willing to help her blossom, Bree would love to meet you!
Ongoing Health
Bree tested positive for heartworms. The good news is that her treatment costs will be covered by the Jefferson SPCA through participating veterinary clinics. Her adopter will need to purchase a 12-month supply of heartworm prevention at the start of treatment. Heartworm disease is treatable, and we are committed to helping Bree get healthy.
Training & Support
As Bree is still settling in, we are continuing to learn about her. She may be a bit reserved when first meeting new people. Patience and gentle reassurance will help her gain confidence.
