Sunshine in dog form, with the perfect balance of social butterfly energy and goofy charm... this is Wes!
Wes is estimated to be just over a year old and weighs around 51 lbs. He appears to be a lab/pittie mix with that happy-go-lucky, people-loving personality shining through in everything he does. He truly is a dog who wakes up ready to enjoy life, and he wants to bring you along with him! Wes has this warm, welcoming energy that makes him instantly lovable. He doesn't hesitate with new people; he leans in. He adores affection, happily rolling over for a belly rub, and he makes fast friends everywhere he goes.
Wes is wonderfully social with other dogs. He is friendly, playful, and knows how to mix and mingle, especially in a group setting. He would thrive with another medium-energy dog to play with and keep him company. After getting his playtime in, he's more than happy to come inside, flop down, and settle. That balance of playful energy and easy downtime makes him such a fun and easy companion. Wes met our house cat, Biggie, and was very excited to make a new friend. He came in with kisses, play bows, and a "let's be besties" energy.
Ideal Home
Wes would do well in a home with a yard or an apartment, as long as his person enjoys getting out and about with him. He would absolutely shine as a go-everywhere, do-everything kind of dog – hikes, patio hangs, neighborhood strolls, you name it. Because of his enthusiasm with new friends, he'll do best with a dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries. Wes can get a little vocal, he likes to chat about things, so apartment life isn't ideal for him. Plus, he loves being outside for play sessions and a good roll around in the grass, so a house with a yard is the dream!

Training & Support
Wes is still growing out of his puppy enthusiasm on leash and can be a bit of a puller when he sees other dogs. This is not reactivity, just excitement. He responds well to corrections and is very treat-motivated, so with a little consistency and some snacks, he will polish up nicely. Wes loves his food and takes treats gently with great manners, even around other dogs. He would ideally have another dog in the home to provide an appropriate outlet for his playful side.
